The Bunnells on indieWIRE… Hanging with the Stones and Scorsese in NYC. Nice pic Lisa and Steve!

After the Rolling Stones crush at Michael’s restaurant in Midtown Manhattan celebrating Martin Scorsese’s rock doc “Shine a Light,” there was a more chill photo shoot with Lisa Bunnell, VP of film at Landmark Theaters (left), Steve Bunnell, head of distribution at the Weinstein Company as well as Variety’s Madelyn Hammond.
Here’s a street ad (on 6th Ave) for the movie:

I posted a bunch of pics from this year’s parade up on Exit172. Got a few good shots… especially one of Bindi and Terri Irwin (daughter and wife of the late Steve Irwin, a.k.a The Crocodile Hunter).

My pics from the 2007 New York City Marathon are now up on Exit172… Hoboken, a 6th Ave Street Fair, Mile 25, and travels throughout Central Park. Enjoy.

Yeah, that’s what I’M talkin’ about! (Warning: profanity)
I’m a long time Mets fan and this year’s season was such a huge disappointment. However, you can always count on Conan O’Brien to lighten things up….
I’ve been hooked on Facebook lately and have been moblogging with my iPhone when I’m in New York City. I’ve decided to make my pics viewable by anyone, even if you don’t have a Facebook account (which you should!). Pics here:
I had an interesting day in NYC today… attended a meeting at the New York Stock Exchange and was able to get onto the NYSE floor for the closing bell. Got to see Brad Garrett from “Everybody Loves Raymond” up close and also met NYSE CEO John Thain. Brad was an absolute riot (and one tall dude)!

World Trade Center — August 22, 2000
I had the pleasure of attending a corporate event with National Geographic in New York City. The theme of the event (which was sponsored by Lenovo and AMD) was “Experience Parks & Conservation“. It was a fun time with co-workers, customers, partners, and even an old friend from my hometown. I also had an opportunity to meet world renowned photographer (and Editor-in-Chief), Chris Johns.

I love National Geographic Magazine — great photography and intriguing articles. How could I pass up being on the cover of their latest issue? ![]()
I rode the 17th Annual NYC Century Bike Tour on Sunday — my first century. What a great day. I rode over 100 miles through four of the boroughs (no Staten Island). Left the house around 2:30AM to get to the Central Park check-in at 5:30AM (I parked in Hoboken and took the PATH/Subway). Started riding at 6:00AM sharp and finished around 2:45PM. My only problem was some right knee pain around mile 55 (in Queens), but a couple of Tylenols fixed that. I don’t know were I got all the energy for the ride, but my Madone seemed pretty quick all day.
I saw some places I’ve never seen before. Lots of beautiful things to see in NYC. Even the local “spectators” were a hoot. They would help point the riders in the right direction and even cheer and clap. Too funny. I never thought in a million years that I’d ride a bicycle through the Bronx (and I’m from there!).
The event was run by Transportation Alternatives — a bicycling advocacy group in NYC. The TA and volunteers did a great job. Good logistics, food, sponsorship, etc. There were a few wrong turns during the day, but I managed to find my way to the finish line.
I’m now looking for more centuries to ride this fall. Can’t wait. ![]()

I just posted some pics on my Smugmug from my ride around the West Side of Manhattan on July 30, 2006.
As the birth of my second child quickly approaches, I can’t help thinking about September 11, 2001. I realize that’s a strange comment, but my first child was born one week after that day. His birth was a godsend and really brought us some joy during a tragic time. I hope that circumstances are better this time when this little guy makes his arrival.
Today the local news posted more stories and audio about 911 emergency phone calls placed from the World Trade Center on 9/11. One example was from a 35 year old man who was attending a conference at Windows on the World on the 106th floor. This brought back more 9/11 memories for me… I was the same age at the time and had visited Windows on the World frequently. More importantly, I could have easily been at that same conference that morning. Luckily, I wasn’t. I declined the invitation to that conference and worked from home that day. I know… lucky, very lucky.
I won’t go on about 9/11, but it’s life events and news reports like these that bring back some strong memories. One can debate whether things are any better today than they were in 2001 (I think they are). Either way, my heart still goes out to the many people who lost their loved ones that day.
